As of January 1, 2021, PMUA no longer picks up mattresses that are not wrapped in plastic.
For the health and safety of our staff and the community, we ask that you schedule your pickup first, then wrap your mattress completely in plastic before we arrive for pickup.

Call PMUA to Take Your Bulky Waste Away
PMUA offers bulky waste disposal services to all Plainfield property owners as part of our Plainfield Community Services program. Those who need to dispose of large items such as mattresses, furniture, and certain appliances are entitled to two standard bulk disposals (collection or drop-off) per calendar year, per property location, included with service. Appointments are scheduled on a first-come-first-served basis, and can only be reserved by the property owner.

Dropping off instead?
Plainfield residents may also bring their bulky waste to the Plainfield Transfer Station (PERC) for disposal. Rules and disposal fees apply. For more information about the transfer station, click here.
